[papercreters] lovely art & wild camping nights

Lynda's curved sculpture is gorgeous. I love the egg shells addition.
like her I keep dragging home little rusty bits, and squashed lids,
and such.. now I can plan what to do with them!!

The monolith she casts are very cool.. they remind me of sculptor and
artist Michael Collins, he has used a papercrete variaion to cast
these giant slabs, and then stand them up. his are in an art garden
at the Bodega bay inn, here in N Calif. he used bigger pebbles and
rocks, and created a bumpy surface, and they have some wild plants and
dune grasses around them, so are a great entry to the Inn.

her is a link page wher you can see some of them.

they weight a few hundred pounds, as he used a lot of cement.

Lastly he did a 700' running fence of sewn burlap fabric over
fenceposts, then sprayed with papercrete, and it is an amazing privacy
wall. [ warning- he lives in Mexico, and doesnt answer his emails]

PLus when I attended a natural builders meeting at Emerald Earth a
few years ago , and another cobbers event in OR- many people would
stay up late, drumming, singing to guitar music, or finally hopping
bare-assed over a bon fire (the 'in' thing then!) so I have NO idea
how far this rowdy crowd may go!! lets hope no one ends up with
weird tattoos and body art, or a shaved head they did not plan on.
me? I went to sleep early- like a spud, and missed the fun, although I
could hear it.
