RE: [papercreters] Re: Wind -was- Effective R-Value calcs

Good morning Bob,

Never seen pictures, but a similar occurrence happened to a friends $20K 3phase on top of the ridge.  It all but ripped the whole power head off the tower.

Above the Arctic Circle there is little to no sun for months.

Most of Alaska is below the circle.  Homer has more temperate climate than most of the Northern Lower 48 other than coastal.  Southeast Alaska, or the Pan Handle is similar to Puget Sound / Seattle Wa. area, albeit less sun in winter more in summer.

The Arctic is sunlight 24 hrs. a day in summer.

Janosh

Hi S.G.;

<<<<<Solar power isn't practical in the arctics>>>>>>

I am wondering where or how you derive this assumption?

<<<<<wind in Alaska >>>>>>>

Have you ever seen the pictures of ice encrusted blades stuck 4' in the
ground when they severed in a 60 m.p.h.??

See Yaaaa........ Bob M.
