In my opinion, the biggest plus about using lime in any papercrete
mix is the viscosity and adhesion of the wet slurry. As the lime
gets in the mix it tends to make it thicker and stickier. The
phenomenon is easy to see as you are adding the lime and mixing it
in. You can watch it become "glueyer" right before your eyes. This
is very helpful in situations like plastering, stucco, or ferro type
methods where you want the wet product to stick to something.
Of course this same advantage becomes a disadvantage when it comes
time to clean it off your tools, shoes, clothes, hair, driveway, dog,
or any other place you don't want it. hehehe
There is never a shortage of opinions about the
advantages/disadvantages of lime, but for what it's worth, that's one
of the biggest advantages in my opinion.
