Before I choose my tubing I think I'll run by our local marine supply place and see what they have for flanges and through hull fittings.  That might be just the ticket.

I have some of that around and it would be workable.  I need to make sure I'm not creating any reactions between metals.  I think I'm okay with alum and galvanized, but I'll check.  If not I'll make a gasket on the downside to keep the metals separated.  I'll have to ask Wad what we've got that will work.  He's the one who actually produces the material when I say "I need . . . ".  We have some really heavy mud-flap rubber.  That might work with a slim metal flange on top.  I'll walk it by Wad and see what he says.  He is the materials guru.
 
I'll take pics.  I should have taken a pic of the jack arrangement for getting the t-bar off . . . not doing so was dumb.
