[papercreters] Re: help me fix my cement mixer!

If it's electric, you might start with your start capacitor, if it
tries to start but won't just give the barrel a little push in the right
direction, mine does that all the time.

[papercreters] Re: great source for paper

P.S. I add no additional water, just what ever water is in the wet pulp paper.

 Where bouts you in Oklahoma?

If you will look into the photo section under "Bob's Siding & Blocks" you will see my "T Lox Blox" form and  blox. To fill the form I use:

6 gal wet paper pulp (mostly office paper shredded + cardboard when
 I can get it)

4 gal red clay (see my photo section for the 15 cu yd pile)

 2 gal Portland Cement

I use two methods of pulping and mixing, I pulp the paper, I then scoop
out 6 gal wet paper pulp and put it into a 8 gallon plastic container, I
add the 2 gals portland cement and mix with the same drill and mixing
blade that I pulped with, I then add this to my electric cement mixer
and at that point I add the 4 gals red clay, I let it mix really good
and dump it into my wheel barrow and shovel it into my forms, I then run
a viberator in the mix to take out the voids. This mix probably is not
papercrete but it is "Cem-Cell Adobe" and I think it is really great
stuff, sets up fast and has very little shrinkage.

[papercreters] Use Group Code?

I am currently in the process of designing, and drawing up plans for a Waste water treatment plant at an animal shelter. I'm almost done, except I'm not sure what my use and occupancy classification would be labeled as on my cover sheet. Would I consider this a utility, factory, or does anyone have any other suggestions?

Odd stuff. I followed your link and found that not only was download helper disabled but also the stop download button was disabled. Seeing that the video itself was a link, I clicked and it reopened with all working normally. I'm downloading it now. It is ten minutes in length and it says two hours to download the HQ version on my connection. Here is the version you can download.

Re: [papercreters] OT - Utube question

VLC does audio also. With playlists, if you like. I mostly use winamp for music because I like the interface. I don't like it for video though it works.

As I said, I haven't used real audio unless it is the same as the real player from years ago, which was free with added modules that cost. I don't recall the issue that made me not like it ten years ago...

I wonder how papercrete would work as speaker enclosures?

Re: [papercreters] OT - Utube question

Most videos on Youtube are FLV format.  Easiest way to tell is the box that shows the video in it is the normal TV screen size.  The High Definition videos may in fact be FLV format but of a different resolution.  Maybe those are the FL1 format.  In any case you can tell the HD videos because they are wide screen format, not normal TV screen dimensions.

Re: [papercreters] OT - Utube question

Either, actually. I tend to abbreviate with sometimes unpredictable results. The best all around viewer I have found is VLC (more free open source software) which will play just about anything. However, download helper will convert on the fly while saving, so you can save those flv files in the format of your choice. Most of the time I find open source stuff to be better than the similar commercial things. I have not used real player for many years so have no idea of how well the current version works. No need for the adobe flash player if you have VLC or convert to another format with download helper.

www.videolan.org/vlc/

for some reason thunderbird isn't letting me insert the url as a link today, but you can copy/paste the above into your browser.

Re: [papercreters] OT - Utube question

utube or Youtube?  Youtube videos are in Flash Video format (*.flv).  They are not a typical desktop format.  You need a special viewer, likely, to view them on your PC without them being served through the internet in your common every day browsers.

If you have Real Audio player installed, it will allow you to download any video format with exception to a new one employed by Youtube for the High Definition videos (which appears to only be streamable, not downloadable).  Real Audio has a little icon that pops up when you hover over a video, if you click on the icon you can download the file in its native format without any other special software.

Either way, you'll need the special viewer for Flash Video format.  See this link:

Ouch. On my screen that scroll just jerks along. I'm still working on my first cup after a short night, and I got a pain right between my eyes.

Nice tribute.
