I like the look of the Nubian Vaults. Although I am not using blocks
because I find it back breaking to pour, dry, flip, dry, move, store,
move, lift, and place each PC block.
The 75 square foot battery room I finished in earlier this year might
be a good size for your rabbits. It was made from a 10' diameter
hemispherical dome. The nubian vaults and hemisphericals look quite
similar to me.
The weather has been particularly hot in southern New Mexico for
June. Black outs have started to occur for grid customers due to
overuse of air conditions. Each day I am amazed to see how
comfortable my little battery room is with a single passive air
intake vent in the door and release vent in the ceiling. Typically
the battery room is staying about 20deg cooler than the outside temp
and maybe 10 deg or so warmer than the outdoor temp at night when
things cool down. It does not store heat well because of the giant
hole in the ceiling.
This week we started building a 20' diameter version of a
hemispherical papercrete/ferrocement dome. It took about 40 hours of
cutting and welding to make the arches. Another 40 hours to assemble
the first half of the dome arches. I sure am glad we limited the
height of the dome to 13' any higher would really slow us down.
