RE: [papercreters] Diatomaceous Earth

I’m not to sure that DE would do much in a solid wall.  My understanding on why DE works for pest control is that the sharp edges lacerate the insect’s exoskeleton as it moves around in the DE which causes the insect to dehydrate.  In a solid wall the DE will get coated in the binding paste whether it be Portland, lime, clay what ever is used and therefore lose its effectiveness.  Mostly lime is used for bugs and seems to be effective by most reports.
