I've been researching potential structures for rabbit barns over the
past few years and have built a couple (Moo-Tel Calf Nursery from
FarmTek and a hoop house framed with chain link fence top rail.)
These two structures work, but have the downside of being subject to
the whims of Mother Nature in terms of temperature. The ideal
temperature for rabbits is in the 50F to 60F range, they can handle
temps as low as -20F for short periods with no harm, but temps over 80
get very uncomfortable, over 90 sterilizes the males for up to three
months, and over 100 kills. I'm in western NY, so -20F is not unheard
of, and 100+F is becoming more common.
This brings me to papercrete and my current line of research, Nubian Vaults.
Has anybody attempted to build Nubian Vaults from papercrete?
Keith.
