I have no intention of starting another group and abandoning this one. There is no stealing of information going on here (other than Yahoo itself), the blogspot was purposely set up by our founder to share valuable papercrete information with others. You do know that we have over 1,800 members, don't you? I have met a handful of them, probably less than a dozen. The vast majority of them are an unknown, virtual strangers. You might be surprised at the number who join, wait a while hoping to be unmoderated, and then try to release spam on the group. We have a system in place that intercepts those attempts.
Nobody in their right mind would ever post anything like phone numbers, addresses, etc., online. Another yahoo group would have exactly the same issues as this one, other than the blogspot. The biggest problem is Yahoo, whose main purpose is to gather your information. They did not set up yahoo groups out of benevolence. They did it to sell you things and gather your demographics. You should be aware that anything you say electronically (email, phone calls, etc.) is monitored and filtered. Surely you are familiar with the patriot act. Be conscious of what you are posting and keep it on topic and there is no problem. They can't steal your bank account by reading your posts about mixing papercrete!
It is a shame that we lost a member and might lose others over misunderstanding. If you are worried that talking about papercrete in a group will enable someone to steal your ID then perhaps you should get off the internet completely, and throw away your cell phone. You are aware that they can track your location with your phone, aren't you? And listen to you even if your phone is turned off? Using that tracking, correlated with your image on the store's security cams, they can determine that you actually drove to a store and bought milk! If you want to get "off the radar", take the battery out of your phone and put them in grounded metal boxes to shield the signal.
I'm as paranoid as anyone, and maybe more than most, but I'm not at all worried about using this group or any of the several others I belong to. I am aware of what I write, and keep it on topic and non-personal as much as I can.

Spaceman, I am feeling the same way, if you want to start another group for this topic I would join, but today with so many stealing ID's it is no longer safe to be here. Please advise as we want to build a home one of these days, but now realize that many of us share too much. Thanks
