Yes and no.
I've tried throwing cardboard through a chipper (you've gotta find a way to keep the output from just flying out of the output mouth, maybe a huge net bag? There was an equipment rental place right up the road from my last house & I showed up one day & asked em to fire it up long enough to throw a bundle of cardboard through it...MESSY!!! but it worked.
I have not, however, tried to hire a trimmer-crew to do it for me...but methinks if you show up with a truckload of beer, they'd be pretty willing.
