There is no zoning in the counties and the state has exempted single family homes in county areas from building permits and inspections.

Im just saying a public road must be maintained to a level that the state and county have adopted... the state and local counties make and enact these codes and they must be held to uphold them... If you look up the definition of a county standard road in any of the building codes certain items MUST be adhered to.

If those codes are not adhered to and the county is made aware of things and they are substandard it increases their liability in a lawsuit.

If they tax me for services I expect those services to be maintained. The law is the law and it goes both ways.

A county would have a hard time explaining to a jury that they collected taxes and did not provide the services agreed to and did not construct and keep in good repair a public road and and had the knowledge of it being dangerous to the public beforehand and that people relied on it daily for safe use.

It will cost millions to put in just roadbase alone let alone 5 -7 mile of pavement. but that all could be lost in a single lawsuit alleging negligence. The counties insurance carrier will require them to fix the road.

Hey I bought this property with photos of a nice graded gravel road, 65 acres, im not upset about that but when I drove 1300+ miles each way with 2 diesel vehicles costing nearly 2k just for diesel fuel to not be able to go the last 5 miles! and talking with the neighbors, the county does nothing to make them whole. The neighbors all are complaining of the situation, do you think they like driving on these roads and HAVING to have 4wd and quads or horses just to getto their own property...

me personally I really do not care, im about ready to retire and once I get tucked in I wont be getting out much. so weahter they fix the road immediatly or not i really dont care, but I do like to stir the pot.
