Portland cement is basically the only cement that we use. When I have gone and asked for cement
at a lumber yard they tend to bring out sacks of 'concrete mix'. That has cement, sand, and aggregate
all together. The cement only bags are typically 94# and only contain the cement.
The sacked concrete mix tend to be about 50 or 60# per bag (and can be different). Quickrete is a
brand name, but there are others.
Portland cement is not a 'brand name' but is the generic description of the cement. You probably want
type II or III, not type I. Type II or III or II/III (characteristics of both), are the most typical you will find.
Keep the cement dry and away from to much moisture vapor. Also, wear a good dust mask as it is
a VERY fine dust as it comes out of the bag.
