Re: [papercreters] Re: Preventing Tool Theft

A friend of mine has a place way out, making me look like a city dweller. He dug a hole, put his tools in it, and then covered it with a ratty old piece of plywood like it was just dropped and left there. Nobody ever bothered to look under it, or stole the plywood.

It would take a large hole to conceal a cement mixer and several ladders.

While we are on the subtopic of cloaking technology... What about cloaking our tools? If thieves cannot find the tools or other valuables, they'll be a lot more difficult to steal. Get creative. Build a hidden location to store valuable tools and equipment. This basic concept has been utilized to make home safes and secret compartments for years. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZOlHyuExz0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iEOzeNYd1o There are hundreds of other examples on YouTube. Out in the middle of the desert, what about building a buried root cellar with a hidden hatch? Perhaps that hatch could be made to appear like indigenous rock? We already have several Papercreters who have made faux rocks out of papercrete. ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
