RE: [papercreters] how do I remove box staples and tape from the cardboard?

Yes tape does get hung up on the shaft. It's no big deal though. Just pull it off. If some gets into your blocks or your walls it's ok. What you have to do with cardboard is soak it for a while before you add it to the mixer. I have several 55 gallon drums that I use. I jam the cardboard vertically as close as possible in the barrel then fill with water. Some cardboard absorbs water quickly and some does not., You can always pull them out as they are ready.

Subject: [papercreters] how do I remove box staples and tape from the cardboard?

Hi Ya'll! So I have this very abundant and endless supply of furniture boxes that new furniture comes in. I am assuming carboard boxes will work just as well as newspaper in and for papercrete contents. But there is only one issue. ALL of the boxes have tape and or staples on them. Is this going to matter any? Maybe It is real early still and I am overthinking this thing. Anybody have any problems with the tape getting tied up around the tow mixer shaft?
