[papercreters] Progress report

Today I stood all the panels on edge for increased air circulation. I found that the first panel from the 10th and the four from the 11th (all of which were poured using cellulose insulation) were relatively light and had not shrunk as much as expected. The bottles in them are no problem, in four of them the bottles are not even visible. The first one has bottles showing on a couple of edges, but not sticking out.

The six panels I poured on the 16th are a lot heavier. Part of that might be because it has only been three days, and they have been through a thunderstorm with hail two days ago without being covered. I only put bottles in one of these, the other five are just papercrete. Even the one with bottles seems much heavier than the first batch, and it shrunk enough that the bottles made a lumpy surface. Obviously (besides time) the difference is in the mix. These were done with a mix containing office paper, newspaper, a phone book, magazines, and a couple of recycled papercrete panels. Though the cement added was in proportion to the first batch, the recycled pc panels added their content of cement to the weight. There is also quite a bit of wet sand still stuck to these wetter panels. This will fall off soon. In a few days the second batch will become considerably lighter but I have a feeling they will stay heavier than the first batch or at least denser.
