Re: [papercreters] More beerpercrete - progress report

Yesterday I was able to flip the smaller panels, and today I turned the first two large panels. The first was no problem as it was poured a day before the other large ones. The second was a little soft still and I managed to knock off a bit of one edge, no big deal. I decided to wait another day before flipping the other four large panels. They should be plenty hard tomorrow.

The only place that it is obvious that the panels are filled with bottles is the one side on the first panel where I put bottles too close to the mold. The one touching the surface does not seem to be protruding any more than yesterday.

Yesterday I made four more panels with embedded bottles. By the last one my method had evolved from carefully placing the bottles in a pattern, to just dumping a bucket of a couple dozen bottles into the mostly filled mold, pressing them down, and then topping off to completely fill the mold.

As I was finishing up a cold front blew in, and the temperature dropped 25 degrees in a couple of hours. This morning it is 20F outside. Just before dawn it rained a bit, and now everything is covered with a film of ice.

So far the only protruding bottle is one that had its bottom against the mold. It's not actually protruding, just at the surface with no pc cover. That surface will mate to another triangle, so the bottle will ultimately be covered.
