Re: [papercreters] papercrete and pool plaster



Nobody has mentioned it that I remember.

I think that's a good idea. I think it would be more effective as a coating rather than mixed in since it is supposed to keep the water from reaching the paper. Maybe someone who is familiar with this stuff could do a trial or two and let the group know how it works out. (subtle hint).

Maybe plaster the inside of a cardboard box and see if it will hold water without wetting the cardboard, if you don't have papercrete handy.

Has anyone used swimming pool plaster in their mixes for papercrete?  I used to build swimming pools for people in the Austin Texas area and the pool plaster is used to waterproof the gunite pools.  So in theory the plaster mixed in papercrete especially in the stucco mix with a higher percentage to mix ratio may be an excellant way to water proof the outer surface of structures.  Any thoughts???
