Robert, be very careful if you scrap this paint as it is probably lead paint. I would not sand it at all. You probably know this already but I needed to say it because I'm in the construction buzz. Wear a very good mask. Cheers, Ev

What are natural options for exterior paint that will protect the wood siding?

 

We have a rental house here in rural northern California which hasn't been painted in about 10 years because our renter is extremely sensitive to chemicals.  The exterior is plywood with old oil-based stain on it, but it's very weathered now and the wood is parched and starting to deteriorate some places.  I really feel we need to paint it this year.

 

Does anyone have any suggestions?
