Hi Charmaine,
Good to meet you.
It is so nice to come here and know that I can be myself.
I always loved science at school but that side of me wrestled with
the creative side, and it was hard to combine the subjects that I
really wanted to do. Now in my 50-s, I reckon I ought to be free to
explore it all without too much restraint, haha. Papercreting is
right up my street, so to speak.
I think there are a lot of arty scientists on this board, and that
they we are rule-breakers, apt to think outside the box,
particularly when the box represents "safe" or "tried and tested". I
wonder if most important discoveries or inventions come from that
sort of rebellion against the status quo.
Have to be grateful, obviously, of people who are also blessed with
the discipline needed to fulfill deadlines and complete projects: I
realize I am not a loner in that respect. But at the same time I
like to think that I am a bit of a problem solver: tell me something
can't be done and I will do my best to come up with the solution. So
perhaps I have my place in long-term projects when they happen to
run into difficulties.
Now look what you did, I am all fired up! On with the welly shoes
and out into the garden! I have some shredded shrub prunings and a
nice big bag of shredded paper just asking to be messed with.
Thanks for the great encouragement!
Love, Mary (Whinnie)
