Re: [papercreters] Bamboo?????

I'm certainly no bamboo expert, but the lady who gave me my starter roots said it was bamboo, and it sure looks a lot like several varieties I find on the net. One place listed a couple hundred types.

I think it is in the grass family just as bamboo is but I don’t think that that is bamboo.

Here are some pictures, perhaps you can identify the variety from them.

I looked around the net, didn't find enough information to tell the difference between several varieties. Man, some types are expensive! Would love to have some of that Japanese Timber Bamboo, 75' tall and 6" in diameter.

Greetings,
Which bamboo please?  Did you use the culms or just the stalks on the
leaves?  I am planting a bunch of different bamboos this year, a real
education, but fun.
Bright Blessings,
Kim

I just recently mixed a load with bamboo leaves and stalks. The no-tow
behind mixer handled it pretty well, but didn't make it as small as I
would like, leaving fibers several inches long in the final product. It
looks like the pc will be good and strong when it dries. It is in a
4x4x1 block that will take a while to dry.
