manufactured Rastra blocks stated as 85% recycled Styrofoam, 15%
cement... but no info on homemade blocks. Any ideas on shredding
foam, mixing or additives?? What kind of recipe would you all start
with??

, I HAVE MADE SMALL TEST PANELS OF EPS, CEMENT,GLENIUM 30-30 BY
MASTER BUILDERS, PVA FIBER, AND REGULAR CEMENT FIBERS.(EPS IS
EXPANDED POLYSTYRENE)
I bucket mixed everything except the EPS with drywall blade and drill
and added EPS last as much as I thought the mix would encapsulate,
then poured into mold.

Results, I thought were great, nice light insulated panel, so well we
are going to use to infill other insulation on our dome and ext
walls.

Then as last layer add thin, high fiber mix to cover and protect it.

Best is to buy EPS block fill as it is 3/8 peices down to fines which
you need.

Vermiculite, and pearlite also work great for stronger panels and
fireproof.Just not quite as light or insulative ,but more structural
strength.

Not rocket science, just toy with your mixes and watch out if using
bucket mixer as will throw mix everywhere until you get your right
speeds. Use mix blade nearly same diamter as bucket size, everything
mixes quick.

Best of.
