[papercreters] PC Art - Re: QUANTITIES of WATER and CEMENT in PC

Yes. Adding Borax helps dramatically in increasing fire-resistance,
but I wouldn't go so far as to say it "fireproofs" papercrete. Borax
is perhaps the most common additive used with commercial blown-in
cellulose insulation.

There is room on the list for some art. Let's face it. Architecture
is an art form too. Personally I rather like the idea of asking each
person that helps built my papercrete home (and their kids) to leave
their artistic and/or nostalgic mark in the structure in an area I
setup for such things. It should be fun for years to come. It's an
adaptation of an idea I blantantly stole from Alan Stankevitz. He had
people sign or draw on the ends of logs that he incorporated into a
special place in his cordwood home.

We've been shroomed, frogged, and alpaca'ed. Nobody has taken up the
challenge from several months ago of sculpting some fun and interesting
letters spelling out "Papercreters" yet. One of these days one of our
artists will sculpt it really nice and post a few pictures. Don't be
surprised if it gets Photoshopped into a Papercreters group logo.
