Re: [papercreters] OK...dumb question...

Greetings,
I personally use all dry weights, before I add water or soak. The
original recipe that came out a couple of decades ago in the Papercrete
Magazine, was 70% paper plus 20% sand plus 10% portland. It actually
works, but if you live in a humid climate, it will mildew if not painted
or stuccoed as soon as it is dry. I use weight for my mixing, but then
I have a techy for a hubby. He built me a scale that can handle up to
70lbs. A friend who has building that have been standing for over 10
years now in our hot HUMID climate, no outer coating, just plain
papercrete. He uses shovels to measure, including the paper, or
sometimes he just guesses at a bundle. Once you start working with it,
you get a real feel for how it will mix, as all paper is not created equal.
