Re: [papercreters] Insulation paper...

Thanks, Judith...got a mortar tub, drill, mixing blade and bucket...time to experiment like a mad scientist! Grateful that so many bridges have already been crossed with this material and that you are all so willing to share.

I have. It is easy to use. It smells from the borates, like ammonia or urine. I mixed in a normal concrete mixer and did not presoak. You could mix in a bucket with a good drill and a plaster mixing blade, or even stir it with your hands though you should use rubber gloves. The finished product is different from pc mixed in a tow mixer or with a spray washer, not as smooth. I may use some more of the cellulose insulation on a current project but will probably stick to the much cheaper "normal" pc.

Anybody used blow-in paper insulation (with borate already in the mix)?
