I have used it a little bit but not as you are describing. Recently I have been using the cellulose insulation for plaster. I'll tell you what I did and maybe you can adapt it. I took 1 part clay soil (you would use cement), 2 parts sand, an amount of soaked cellulose equal to the clay-sand mixture. Add enough water to make a stiff but pourable mix. Try this to make some samples and change the recipe as you see fit. I used a very wet mix on my walls and they came out great. This is not the final plaster just a sculpting mix to even out the walls for the real stuff.
