RE: [papercreters] Where does everyone get there paper from?

In my area all the big sources (big companies, San Antonio Express News, etc.) were being sold to a recycler who wouldn’t even talk to me about buying the paper unless I bought an 18-wheeler full…*if* I would have a loading dock and forklift to unload it at my place.  I finally found a small independent newspaper that comes out 2 times/week and was able to get their left-over papers…about 200#/week…..delivered! ;)  If you’re anywhere near Wilson County, TX I’ll tell you where to get them because it really looks like I’m going to go with wood chips/sawdust instead of paper.

You might check with your local Thrifty Nickel or Green Sheet office.  Local schools probably recycle paper but they may not *sell* it to recycle it and if you explain why you want it they may save it for you.

Check with printers.  They have paper in big rolls.  When they have a job that doesn’t take a whole roll they usually don’t try to use the “end” paper because chances are they’d have to stop production to change paper rolls.  It’s usually not cost effective to stop production so they usually give or throw away the ends.

Do you have a Kinko’s?  Or some other copy place?  They throw away a LOT of paper.  You might talk to the manager and get them to save it for you.

Good luck.  When I first got interested in papercrete I had to look high & low for sources but the longer you’re around the more sources you can find.

Being new at this and eventually going to need a LOT of paper I was
wondering if others could share there source for paper.
