Yeah, I know, what I'm posting about is incredibly obvious. However,
we all get lax on the simple stuff sometimes. Maybe this reminder
will help save some headaches.
Please note the importance of starting with a half bucket of water.
Making 5 gallons of slurry in a 5 gallon bucket is asking for a
mess. You'll have slurry spilling and flying everywhere. It's great
entertainment for the neighbors and kids to watch, but not much fun
to clean up. hehe You'll also work faster. Mixing 2 half buckets
will take about 1/4th the time of one full bucket. It's also nice to
not have your blood pressure skyrocket. I also recommend working on
top of a tarp if you care about the work area.
Wear old clothes, boots, and gloves. Getting cement, lime, or flyash
on bare skin or in the eyes is painful at best. They all can dry
skin out in a heartbeat. If not cleaned off quickly they can even
cause burns.
Anyone considering or already using the bucket method, I recommend
reading this previous post:

Scroll to the bottom of that message to see a list of all the
responses. There are several excellent ones. I recommend reading
the entire thread.
Hope this helps.

Shred or presoak your paper (or both). Put the dry ingredients into
1/2 bucket of water and start mixing. The paper will absorb water, so
add water as you mix. Don't worry about too much water, there is no
such thing with papercrete, it'll just drain away. The smoother your
mix, the stronger your pc.
Experiment with the proportions, and be sure to let us know about
your results. When you hit on an exact recipe you like, be sure to
put it in the database at http://papercreters.net/ along with any
comments and test results.
Most of all, it's important to have fun!
