I have never bought it but have heard you can get it trough a commercial laundry. Maybe a place like Sam's Club would have it. Sorry I can't offer more than that.

Please post your results when you test. While I have been using that ratio of borax for over a decade, there is no guarantee that this is the best mix. Any added minerals like the sand some folks use, will decrease the chance of fire. Portland cement is part of the added minerals. With just cardboard and borax you may need more borax.
