Hi every one I haven't posted in a long time on here but saw the posts on block presses.
We did this 3 yrs ago and the conclusion was it would cost to much per block in time as we found slip forming would be much quicker.
1 takes 2 hrs for pulp to drain before it can be pressed.
2 once drained getting the correct amount drained pc into the compartment for a consistent block.
3 block needs to be compressed at 1500 lbs so the chamber has to be built very strong and still have holes for drainage.
4 You must be a person with huge mechanical skills to build one of these as the hydraulics and fabricating must be correct for your safety.
There are some pics on the fourm of our press it did work well and we could put out 3 blocks a min but labor and time made it not worth it.
hope this helps answers some questions.
Clair.
