Just over the next hill, right down the road. : )
Come on over and tote a few buckets, and I'll trade you some dome knowledge. Maybe it is about time for another workshop - if anyone is interested contact me off list, and if there is interest then I'll get busy organizing. Maybe Memorial day three day weekend would be good.
One "ideal" dome that best utilizes standard ten foot long pipes gives 205 square feet of floor space (the one assembled in the video is this size), and with a 3' Molly (ring wall) there is enough room inside for a loft. About a ton of papercrete will cover one with an R12 shell, and give you quick cheap insulated enclosed space. Papercrete is wonderful stuff by itself and a great cheap way to build. Combine that with the efficiency of domes and it gets even better, IMNSHO.

I may have to do that I mean your only next door right? The domes seem perfect for animal/human/supply housing.

Is this your not so subtle way of drawing my attention to the fact that YouTube has discontinued the "Groups" feature that we used previously?
I need to look around and figure out what is the best method for Papercreters to group our videos together so it is easy for everyone to view them.
In any case, kewl video, brah.

I dug a bunch of old hard drives out of a drawer and started going through them looking for anything interesting. On one I found a folder labelled "workshop2003" and it was full of pictures of a three day labor day workshop. I tossed those photos into a video editor and got all you need to know to make a papercrete geodesic dome in a minute and a half.
