[papercreters] Wow Ron, thanks Woodgas

We live in a Forrest and canyon country area.  So far we have tons of wood to burn, will go to the site and learn some more again.  Good I like to research, cause that is all I am doing.

I am so afraid of not getting done what I have in my mind to accomplish.  Everyone here is so wonderful.

Planning and getting the plans down on paper , with a production type of schedule or plan is the hardest part.

By the way I talked with the state energy person today, will report back on that one later when I have more time.  Having good information in a readable form with the backup is the key to working within the constraints of the systems.

I would love be living by when , with out the laws and the dumb stuff, but then I wouldn't have all you great resources.  As computers where not part of the terrain back then.

So I choose today and learning all the collective expertise of the members here.

You have no idea how helpful everyone is,it has been a very lonely road here to fore.

The state has a huge, or should I say a good number of Strawbale folks, but I do not have the strength to put up a SB house in the needed time to get it all covered and plastered before the rain may decide to appear.

Well off to other life things, will get back with Quentin later.  Appreciate all comments.  I took no offense.  Always into discussing and learning what I can.

By the way did talk to an energy person and we are still under the 2003 regs, as the subsequent regs were less energy sufficient.

Is this not all so exciting, we are pioneers really.  So pat yourselves on the backs today.

Calle and the paper gang...

Calle,
Do you have wood where you are building?  If you are off the grid and want to keep costs down you can make your own power in a number of ways.  Without buying a solar cabin kit (which even these are down to about $4800.00 now) you could build a gas generator and run a regular light plant sized to your needs.  This is supposing there is a source of wood near you that is cheap or your own for free.   The gas generators are made specific to your species and size of fuel but they cost less than $1000 to make, depending on your scrounging ability.
There is a group that is larger than this one and much more prolific with postings (some of these guys use it like twitter).  A couple in the group have generators in their truck beds and use wood to drive around like normal with a big smile on their faces as they go by gas stations.  Course when they run out of wood in the hopper they need to pullover to the side of the road and stuff grass in till it generates more gas.
