Salt is far more of an attractant to critters....... Probably the
worst choice you could make to deter critters. I don't think you want
your house to become a salt lick for every squirrel and porcupine, deer,
rodents, etc....... Many of these animals will literally eat your boots
for the salt in your sweat.
