Neal,

We tried applying the papercrete stucco with hawk and trowel but
preferred using our hands. It seemed to mush into the chicken wire
better. Obviously it can be done either way. Also we liked the
undulating finish.

It would be easier to answer the cracks question specific to a photo -
shifting earth and mixture have some bearing on cracking of course.
Finer sand seemed to produce less cracking - but some is inevitable I
think.

Some of the photos are of my friend's 3000 square foot house in
Cornville, AZ. He used a block base (anywhere from two blocks high
upwards to four feet) to keep the PC from contact with the ground and
for some structural integrity' and as required by the code official.
He had major separations where the PC met the block in a number of
places - this was eventually repaired.
