Our cellar is lined with heavy plastic, with the base being a French Drain.
So the soil bags of sand and clay are not that wet.
We are un the high dessert area.
We did a soil test with water.
The clay sand layered out.
Hubby use to work at company with chemists that deal with sealants for concrete store and parking lot surfaces.
So they said that it would work great, so he adds so much concrete and mixes it with the sand / clay mixture

Valle, I found the oil/milk formula in Carole Crews' book Clay Culture. I was looking for something that wouldn't cost a lot. In fact the recipe says to use any old used vegetable oil.I like the idea of using adobecrete but am not sure what it is. Do you add adobe soil to cement (or the other way around)? I have heard of adding adobe dirt to paper pulp which I did and it come out fine except for the long drying time. It had a pretty light brown color. If you build into the side of a hill and use earthbags what do you fill them with? Wouldn't it have to be something that would not wick water?

Interested in your milk/ fat mixture.
I wanted to do papercrete to cover our earthbags, but husband insisted that we use adobecrete as our sand clay mix was perfect. He said he wanted strength.he made forms.
Will see how the unfinished project is when the weather is good.
It is difficult to get in and out if the ground is too wet.
Our whole house we hope to be paper crete.
We may build into a hill, so that part would be earthbags.
Looking forward someday doing more artwork with it, as I do handmade paper as an art form.
First things first.
