Since some papercreters here use cardboard sources for this would be good to list too.
So far I have researched the archives here but I thought I would ask the question has anyone even considered starting a "Where to Look for Paper List"?
So far todate I have found several sources that are more than willing to support me in my project.
1. Local buy back book store that buys books or simply takes them in from people dumping them off instead of sending them to the dump.
2. Local Shredding company there are companies that shred important documents for local businesses. In some cases they send this shredded material to a recycling center but for small projects like mine and many that everyone here has they will give up a truck load or two.
3. Newspaper all fall...aka the end pieces of a newpaper run. They also have tons of papers that they dont sell that the only way they get rid of them is in the city dump.
4. Local businesses that do not subscribe to shredding companies. A lot of thier shreddings simply go in the land fill.
5. Cardboard collection centers. In some cases the cardboard they collect cannot be recycled due to one reason or another. This is an optimum source for obtaining free material.
6. Storage Unit Auctions, many times when a storage unit facility has a no pay they will auction off the goods in the storage unit. Unfortunately in some cases this means boxes after boxes of either private papers or magazines. They typically just dump them all in the dumpster to go to the land fill. Another source that is viable for multiple types of paper products.
7. the most common one is stores as all of you know for those that go dumpster diving for cardboard and paper..:)
8. Also junk mail but thats where most of us got our start in this for fun..;)
9. Craigs list...believe it or not its a decent source because people move and when people are having a moving sale thats the opportune time to go snag all thier old paper so they don't have to haul it off. A good idea there is to explain to the home owners what you are doing with it and that all the documents and papers that they give you will be utterly unrecognizable when your done with it..;)
10. Last but not least relatives are a good source and when you get them involved they throughly enjoy comming and looking at what you have done with they trash paper that they gave you..;)
So with that all said anyone have any other sources that I have not listed here. I didn't want to list more at the moment as I type to much and it takes a while to read what I have done :0
