[papercreters] Re: insulated floor

Yes, radon can be a scary issue. I think if pouring a concrete floor around here for a home, because of radon, the building code calls for a membrane of some sort to be placed before (underneath) the concrete to stop the radon from leaking up.

You could always do what is done for grounding house electrical systems (in addition to the ground wire coming from the main line). I saw an electrician bury a copper plate attached to a copper wire outside and then ran the wire to the house electrical fuse box. You could do something similar to that but instead run the wire down into the floor above the radon barrier and gravel, so it's connected to the first clay and sand layer.
