[papercreters] anyone else mess with google sketchup

its a CAD or CAD like software where you can make lovely scale 3d drawings. and free yet =) besides pro. i am kind of facinated you can plug the 3d model in to google world.
i am currently constructing a dome in lovely 3d showing construction layers. after that i will try to lay out the floor plan or 2. including ,if i can manage it, utility layout, conduits and plumbing. windows, doors and overhangs. all and all to have something to look at and think .. i already noticed the '2nd' 47 foot airdome mold i was on a manufacturer's website, and in relation to the little man in the drawing the dome height seems massive.. i like big but it maybe too big lol. also i was considering complete second floor with a large opening(ventilation) containing spiral/stairs around a finnish fireplace but it maybe more impressive if i leave the area over the living room open to the roof.
the software is pretty cool actually. i am trying to lay out the material layers so i can peel back a layer but am having a bit of trouble making a dome over the last layer 2 inches bigger though. also have it to scale so i can play with window openings to scale so i can see if i can place 2 single pane windows into a opening and if i can fit blinds(possible aluminum black on one side white on the other) into the cavity between those windows etc etc. i can put a brow over the door then put a "tunnel" or arched roof mud/entry room with a door on either side so that you dont have the flood of heat/cool rushing out.. and compare the look and such of each.
i will post link or fly-by/ cut aways if i finish the design for creative or flaming critisism i dont mind
