Re: [papercreters] It's such a small world

The difference between fidobe/paper adobe and papercrete is the ratio of soil content, isn't it? The impression I got was that there was a lot of flexibility in formulas that would pass, as long as they made it past the test standards for adobe. NM acceptance would certainly help with IBC acceptance, hopefully. I don't care what they call it in the code as long as we can keep making it ourselves and building with it .

Greetings, It was about 10 or 12 years ago now that I talked to Mike about it. However, it was not papercrete but what he called fidobe that was not a problem for code. Fidobe was Mike's term for paper adobe, at the time. Instead of manure and straw, the blocks were made with paper adobe and the adobe code followed. No problems. I have talked to inspectors in Texas that have agreed that paper adobe, no matter what you choose to call it, is still basically adobe. Bright Blessings, Kim
