I don't see how the clam shaped reflector could be effective as a cooker. A parabolic reflector concentrates the energy from a large collection surface area to a small focus area. Yes it has to continually be re-pointed to be effective.
Your setup is able to reflect a small area of energy from the collection surface area (clam shell) to the focus area over a prolonged time. I suppose you could think of it as a "slow cooker."
