[papercreters] Long term curing Part III *Update*

I started doing some more testing on my long wet cured samples
today. The strength is roughly the same; I could tell no significant
difference in either the ones that were immediately dried and the
ones that were long cured. The surface finish was very different in
the pieces as well as how they looked when they were broken apart.
The long cured ones were a lot finer grain. The paper was broken
down into smaller fiber pieces and the surface finish was lot
smoother (these were cast pieces). So if your doing a cast piece
that is going to be of decorative value, you should defiantly
experiment with long wet curing for better surface finish- if that's
what your after.

I have started the next phase of my experiments- polishing and
finishing. When attempting to polish without sealer I got exactly
what I was expecting- a furry block of papercrete. I've applied
sealers to some of the samples, polycrylic, polyurethane, and
urethane. The surfaces have an odd reaction to the sealers,
the "clumps" of paper close to the surface absorb different amounts
and it gives it almost a marble look. The sealers have not cured yet
so I don't know if this look will go away with time or not- I am
hoping that it doesn't.

Plans for the use of this are moving along, just waiting on my
experiments to finish seeing exactly how to go about the looks and
structures I'm wanting to achieve. Just thought some might be
interested. I'll post again once I'm done playing with sealers and
coatings and such.
