RE: [papercreters] Re: Asphalt emulsion

Gto the following link and click on data sheets for Henry’s 107  http://www.henry.com/Protective_Roof_Coatings.20.0.html

Just a few extracts:

Warning: Product contains detectable amounts of chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm.

Note: This coating like all asphalt based products, forms small amount of water soluble material as it weathers.  Normally this is not noticeable because rain washes it away…

Employers should obtain a copy of the material safety data sheet.

Then under Flammability: Not flammable WHEN WET

Because it is made from light crude oil it does not need solvents added because they are already in there.

Nick,
Asphalt Emulsion isn't a hydrocarbon, nor does it contain any of those. There are asphalt
lakes in various parts of the world which occur naturally. Asphalt whether its a derivative
of the petroleum industry or a naturally occurring deposit, is non-toxic.

Henry's 107 asphalt emulsion is solvent free, it is made from asphalt emulsified with
bentonite clay, its corrosion-resistant, and waterproof when dry.
