Regardless of whether or not AE will be absorbed by paper fibers or not I would choose not to use it particularly in an interior application. It may work wonderfully but it is still a hydrocarbon which I would prefer not to have decomposing inside my living space.
Just my 2 cents worth (and its Canadian so it might be worth a bit more then your used too J )
