[papercreters] Papercrete versus vermiculite for hard pool bottom

I am installing an above ground pool and my pool guru said to use
vermiculite or a product called Pool-Krete which is portland cement,
sand and vermiculite pre-packaged in bags that you mix with water and
trowel onto the ground prior to installing your vinyl pool liner.
This would take the place of installing over a sand bottom and also
allows a bottom drain to be installed because of the permanence of the
product. My question is, do you think I could substitute papercrete
for the vermiculite (or Pool Krete) mixture? My research in the pool
sites and forums says the reason to use the vermiculite is that it is
softer, is more porous, and is less abrasive to the pool liner than
regular concrete or cement alone. It seems to me that papercrete
would meet all of those requirements and would be way cheaper. What
do you think?
