We're thinking of covering some quanset-hut-shaped portable chicken coops with a mix of the ceramicrete and paper. They range from 10x10 to 12x16. We had invested in a garbabe pump before considering the quick-setting MgO or ceramicrete, but now fear it will ruin the pump. I hate to think of troweling it on by hand but can't come up with a better solution since we have already invested our money in the garbage pump. I don't think the paint roller would work with the papercrete/ceramicrete mixture for us, would it?
Two of the coops are currently covered in plastic-coated tarps over the cattle panels and chicken wire used in their construction. I'm thinking the tarps would make a mold that could later be removed, huh? The tarps are dark charcoal gray, not a good thing for the chickens in the summer heat here. So if they could be removed, so much the better.
