[papercreters] Conferences / Get-togethers/Collectives Do we have any?

Hi all,

I've been a busy bee for the last several months though you wouldn't know by the number of posts I put up on the Forum.

I have been transitioning from Haiti to Canada, back to help my Dad on his patch of sand that he calls a farm. It's in the North Thompson Valley, North of Kamloops, British Columbia.

I used to be involved in this thing called I.T.C.A. (International Thin Shell Construction Association)that we held in Oregon. It was a great way for international builders to get together for a few days and share/swap ideas and build on current methods.

My Dad and I are looking at wrestling with the idea of a cold weather greenhouse that is a hybrid between an Earthship, Masonry heater acting in a water boiler that sends heated water through the floor of the greenhouse. It's built into a side hill (sand)and double is facing south with double pained glass.

It would be great to start a project like this and share the outcome with a group of professionals.

Do we have any conferences in the third week of September 2013? Do you think that a symposium of this sort would attract builders. We could have some great speakers, good venue to host, beautiful countryside, and... Beer. Good Canadian Beer.

Any thoughts?
