[papercreters] Appropriate posts on Papercreters

In light of some recent unfortunate posts, it is appropriate to remind everyone what is acceptable to place in a post on papercreters and what is unacceptable.

Papercreters is deplores SPAM.
Don't do it. We will take appropriate action to keep this group SPAM free.

It's about Papercrete
Obviously, this group is dedicated to discussing Papercrete. That should be the focus of our posts. Topics related to papercrete are also acceptable. We may wander slightly off topic from time to time, but we get back to papercrete pretty quickly.

Have Fun.
Respectful humor is not only acceptable it is encouraged. Please keep it clean. Avoid insulting others. A light hearted fun dialog makes it much more pleasant to read the messages on Papercreters.

We don't censor opinions about Papercrete. The moderators will censor SPAM and disrespectful behaviour. Moderators decisions are final. If someone disagrees with something someone says about papercrete, they are welcome to post their disagreement, (even if you disagree with ME!!!) Just make certain that your disagreement does not become a personal attack on another member. Stick to discussing the issue at hand, and avoid discussing the character or mental capacity of the person you might disagree with, and you'll probably be just fine.

Our moderators do a great job in keeping this group MOSTLY spam free.
To give everyone a rough idea of the size and scope of the efforts to spam this group, I looked through the Yahoo Managment logs for Papercreters. In the past year approximately 600 attempted SPAM messages have been automatically blocked by the system. This would not be possible without this being a moderated group. Almost another hundred SPAM messages made it through the automated system and were intercepted and rejected by our moderators without those messages ever getting passed along to the Papercreters membership. That is a lot of spam we have successfully prevented from getting distributed on Papercreters.

Every once in a great while, a message might slip through the cracks, but when it does, we do our best to act quickly to correct the situation. It's rare when something slips through, but we do take action when something catches us by surprise.

All of our moderators are uncompensated volunteers. Please express your gratitude for their efforts. Your appreciation is the only thanks they get. The best way to say thanks is to post about something interesting or cool related to papercrete and tag a thanks to the moderators onto your post. We like to read interesting and cool stuff about papercrete just like you do. It's the reason we are here helping out after all.

To all the moderators, I offer my personal thanks publicly. I may have started this group years ago, but I never could have kept it going without your help. Papercreters would have died a long time ago if I had not received your wonderful assistance. YOU ARE AWESOME!!!

Finally, I want to take this opportunity to thank YOU. Each and every member of Papercreters. You are what make this group worthwhile. It's your posts, your photos, your videos, your ideas, your discussions, and your good humor that are interesting. It is also your excellent behaviour that shines like a beacon to keep this place going. The overwhelming vast majority of our members behave themselves beautifully. It is far less than 1% that even attempt to cause trouble.

I applaud you, and thank you.

Keep the discussions going. Keep learning, sharing, and having fun.
