[papercreters] ferrocement is thin compared to papercrete but we are insulating with other materials

We are isulating the outside with urerthane(not so green but has soy in it) and we also use a mix using polystyrene in the concrete, lightens the mix and insulates. ,not as much compressive strenght as concrete but can be decent depending upon sand cement ratios etc. but is water resitant. We add a high amount of fiber when we need higher strength.

We also make a cellular mix with  with a foam generator ,more fire and freeze resistance ,
So we are not staying with one single type of construction.

If we had drier climate in Illinois I would feel better about papercrete, seems that adding clay, lime and cement with it would make it plenty fire resistant and still have good insulative values.

I added clay to a papercrete test run and likes the looks of it.

There is a contractor gathering newspaper here and shreddding it , adding fire resistant chemicals(unsure what it is) and adhesive materials and spraying it inside wall cavities in new and older homes with success. They are pretty well using all the local paper.
