Re: [papercreters] Re: Garbage disposal

I installed a 3/4 hp garbage disposal unit on a cider press I made to pulp apples prior to squeezing the juice out of them.  It worked fine for a couple of years till the year I was pressing apples during a warm spell.  Usually we crush and squeeze when it is around 30 degrees.  Well the disposal has a thermo limiting switch so, every couple of minutes it would stop until it cooled down enough to run again.  I thought it was getting old but realized the next cold year that it was fine.  Probably wouldn't work too well on a hot New Mexico summer day.

you would have to stand there and slowly feed little bits of paper into a disposal, have a water circulation system with filters and pumps and all that... lottsa noise, water, electricity and standing around. way to complicated.

heavy duty drill motor with a paint mixer paddle would work better in 5 gallon buckets.

but, you do have a heavy duty motor in a disposal. get the motor off, adapt a blade to it, install it in the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket - same principle as the drive-around mixers.
