I have searched Mother Earth News but I was unable to find the article.
From what I have read the petrified hessian is more resilient than just
soaking hessian in wet cement, which tends to be very brittle. The
petrified hessian was used extensively in Australia during the war and
examples were said to be still in fair condition in the 5o's and beyond.
