I dont suppose by any chance that you mean your walls hardened while they were fully enclosed with an impermeable moulding frame? I'm looking at moulding slender columns in a single shot, but presumed an impermeable mould would stop it setting. If going to a much richer mix (more cement) like yours would solve that, I'd be interested in going that route.
Its a shame I havent got more hands on experimenting time at the moment!
